Meg Ryan
Meg Ryan is a blonde-haired blue-eyed,
blonde-haired woman who has a vibrant personality. Her birth name is Margaret
Mary Emily Hyra to Susan (Duggan) who was she was an English teacher, and once
an actress. Harry Hyra was a math teacher. Ruthenian and Polish, Irish, German
and German descendents. "Hyra", her maternal grandmother's maiden
name is Ruthenian. Meg graduated from Bethel High School in Bethel in May 1979.
She moved to New York and majored as a journalist at New York University. In
order to earn money while she was completing her degree, Meg went into acting
under the name Meg Ryan. 1981 was her debut on the big screen. She portrayed
Candice Bergen's daughter in the film of George Cukor Rich and Famous (1981).
She auditioned and was made Betsy in the day time soap as the World Turns
(1956). From 1982 until 1984, she was a member of the team. Meg also had a part
in the television series One of the Boys (1982), but this show was eventually
cancelled. In 1984, Meg moved to Hollywood and was offered a position with the
western TV series Wildside (1985). Meg had a small role in Top Gun (1986),
which led her to be cast in Steven Spielberg’s Innerspace (1987) in which she
played alongside Dennis Quaid. For the remake of D.O.A., she starred again with
Dennis Quaid. (1988) The two got wed on Saint Valentine's Day 1991. Meg was in
1989's When Harry Met Sally... (1989), and the restaurant scene was made
famous. Meg was nominated twice for the Golden Globe and BAFTA. In 1990, she
co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and this time she
played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia. She was also a part of the hugely
successful Sleepless in Seattle (1993), where she received nominations for the
Golden Globe. Meg decided to go against the trend in 1994, when she portrayed
the role of Meg's drunken wife and mother "When a Man Loves a Woman"
(1994). After that, she went back to "cute" with both I.Q. (1994) and
French Kiss (1995). People Magazine voted Meg as one of the top 50 most
beautiful people on earth 1994.
